Immediately after Bariatric Surgery
Those who have undergone bariatric surgery are required to have a diet of liquids upon returning home. This is one of the most challenging aspects of weight loss surgery, though it doesn’t have to be full of boring foods and feeling hungry.

Those who do not experience any issues whilst eating fluids can quickly progress onto soft foods. This stage incorporates smooth, pureed and soft solids. Typically a patient will eat soft foods for around 2-6 weeks after surgery.

Once you are able to tolerate a range of different soft foods, you can move onto stage 3; eating the foods that will be a part of your diet for life. This often occurs around 8-16 weeks post operation, though it varies between everyone.
