The Bariatric Group specialises in weight loss surgery.
We started the service in 2003 and now have eight
surgeons so meet the team, undertaking surgeries in
hospitals across the UK. All experienced consultant bariatric surgeons, they also run their own NHS practices and have collectively performed over 2,000 operations (both NHS and private patients) over the past three years.
The Bariatric Group provides weight loss* surgery and
aftercare for those who wish to undertake treatment
privately.
Many medical studies have shown that once a person is
severely overweight, they can still derive some benefit
from diet, behavioural modification or exercise
programmes, but they are rarely sufficient to achieve
significant weight loss. Anti-obesity drugs may also be
helpful but are not recommended for long term use. The
only treatment that is clinically proven to produce
significant weight loss is bariatric surgery.
World-wide, hundreds of thousands of patients have
had successful weight loss surgery and there are
numerous publications in medical literature on its
benefits. As well as enjoying the social and fitness
benefits of being lighter, many patients find that they no
longer need treatment for obesity-related diseases and
their quality of life improves dramatically.

Are you considering treatment, but are unsure about the best way to pay for it? If so, you might be interested in the payment plans we offer to fund your treatment.
How do I apply?
You will need to complete a simple, online credit application, which one of our staff can help you with. The information is transmitted to the lender immediately and a reply is usually received by return. You can then either sign a credit agreement that we print for you, or have it emailed for you to complete at home.
How much can I borrow?
You can borrow between £350 and £25,000, subject to status. You must be over 21 to apply, and you must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes, a minimum deposit of £1000 is required.
How much are the repayments?
Obviously this will depend on the amount you borrow and whether you pay a deposit. Our staff will show you, completely without obligation, the monthly repayments for your particular treatment.
